Cole Palmer's plans to start a wine range, named after his 'Cold Palmer' moniker, have been scotched after he lost a trademark battle against a famous French winery. Chateau Palmer sells premium bottles of its wine for £750 a pop, and challenged the England star's proposal in court, having been founded in 1814.
Palmer loses legal battle
Per The Sun, Palmer has lost a trademark battle with Chateau Palmer, who have been selling wines since the early 1800s. Their Cru Classé Margaux from 1970 can cost as much as £750, and they challenged the England international's plan to brand a set of bottles after his Cold Palmer nickname. They have been victorious, and Palmer's lawyers are now revising his plans.

Given his rise in status since joining Chelsea, and developing into one of the world's best attacking midfielders, the England international is said to be considering expanding his off-field activities, particularly in terms of investments. He had wanted to brand wines, spirits, and clothing but may now simply focus on the latter two, given the ruling handed down.
Palmer currently injured
Palmer is currently injured, having been withdrawn after just 20 minutes against Manchester United at the weekend due to a recurrence of his groin injury. He has plenty of time, then, to brainstorm potential IP ideas for his Cold Palmer brand; maybe a set of designer balaclavas could hit shelves soon, after he was seen going incognito to check out his own Nike advert in London.

Injury recovery is going to be Palmer's focus moving forward. The Blues face Brighton this weekend as they look to build on a start to the season that has seen them win two, draw two, and lose one of their first five games; they are currently sixth in the Premier League table.
